Printing and converting processes
Recommended : Offset, Letterpress, Die-cutting, Lamination (1/SC).
Suitable : Silk screen, Thermography, Foil blocking, UV varnish, Offset varnish*, Blind embossing, Creasing, Poly lamination**.
Notes : Drying times will be slightly longer than conventional stocks; it is then better to avoid high stacks and to let the paper be thoroughly dried before starting with other procedures. Stardream always gives excellent results in offset printing, however the pearlescent effect may reduce the contrast range and make some images to look flat. Always creasing before folding.
*The offset varnish is applicable even if it is not visible with one coating.
**Poly-lamination requires a perfectly smooth surface to allow the film to adhere to the paper. For this reason we recommend trial tests in advance.
Inks : Stardream should be printed using top quality oxydising inks adding 3% Grafo Drier, or vegetable oil based inks. Add specific water soluble drier to fountain solution.
Screen : 60/70 lines (150/175 dpi).Stardream is laser guaranteed within the substance range recommended by the printing machine manufacturers.
